Cacao Bliss Ball Recipe…

Cacao Bliss Balls

  

Ingredients:

1.5 cup medjool dates

1 cup almonds (I use raw natural almonds)

1/2 cup cashews 

1/3 cup coconut oil

1/3 cup cacao powder

1.5 tablespoons of chia seeds

2 tablespoons of maca powder (optional)

1/2 cup shredded coconut 

Directions: 

Throw all the ingredients into your food processor and blend. Once it is all combined roll into balls. Roll the balls into some extra shredded coconut if you desire. Let them harden in the fridge for about an hour and then enjoy! They can be stored in an air tight container for a week in the fridge. Recipe will make about 12-15 Bliss Balls.

Fertility Diet: Day 8…

  
Day #8

So only 5 days left taking my birth control pills! I’m so excited for August to get here already. Got a call from our fertility nurse and got some appointments moved around. We are now having our ‘IVF beginners’ info night (a little class with a few other couples about to start IVF) on the 4th and then on the 5th is our meeting to go over the shots/medications etc. So excited to get started. The countdown has officially begun. 

So for breakfast this morning I had my banan and strawberry overnight oats. Sprinkled with chia and flaxseeds for extra goodness. 

  
Lunch 

I made a batch of my homemade oven baked sweet potato fries, with a side of whipped avocado – because let’s be real I can’t go a day without avocado lol. Oh and how cute are my little chip baskets I picked up from work the other day. I’m a sucker for (kinda)useless kitchen items. 

  
Dinner

Tried a new recipe tonight. Zucchini and sweet potato slice. With a yummy side salad and roasted cherry tomatoes. Very yummy!

   

   
Snacks 

One of the banana walnut mini loaves that I baked yesterday. Shared a bowl of strawberries with Zach after his nap and my usual fertility smoothie. 

  
  

Fertility Diet: Day 7…

 

  Day #7

Breakfast 

This morning we went to the beach for a play and sandcastle building. Zach had a blast, he loves the beach. Until he gets sand in his pants and wants to run around in the nude haha. So I just whipped up a quick fertility smoothie for breakfast this morning. It was packed with fresh strawberries, banana, almond milk and maca powder! Refreshing.   

Lunch

Today we picked up sushi from our favourite place ‘sushi sushi’  haven’t had sushi in a while so it was a nice treat. 

  Dinner 

Tonight I made poached chicken with maple roasted pumpkin and feta salad. Amazing! Maple roasted pumpkin has changed my life haha. So yummy.   

  Snacks

Today I baked some yummy heathy 100% clean banana and walnut mini loaves – they are so moist. Trying to stop Jason from eating them all tonight haha. Zach enjoyed one as an afternoon snack as well. Also made another batch of Cacao Bliss Balls for snacks through out the week.

Day #6

Happy Saturday! Today we took Zach bowling for the first time and he had a blast. We also went out for ice cream afterwards so that was my naughty treat for the day! Saturday’s are also our take a-way nights and we had enchiladas from GYG! They are always amazing! 

Breakfast 

Bacon, sunny side up egg and toast. Jason had work this morning so Zach and I had a yummy hearty breakfast and lazed around the house watching cartoons. Is there anything better than bacon? Lol. 

 

Lunch  
I made chicken, cheese and avocado quesadillas for lunch, avocado again because it’s my favourite!

  

Dinner 

Our take a-way night was Chicken Enchiladas from GYG. They are amazing. Best Mexican place in town. I worked a short shift 5pm-8pm tonight so I picked these up on my way home. Currently in bed watching Dexter while Jason is snoring in my ear.

 

Snacks  

Sorry this was kind of a slack food journal post. Been a busy day! Ice cream pit stop with my boys!

  

Fertility Diet: Day 5…

 Day #5

Breakfast

Overnight oats to the rescue! Strawberries, mixed berries, Greek yogurt, chia seeds, oats, maple syrup & a little stevia for sweetness. Super filling and super yum!!!

 

  Lunch

Chicken and salad wrap for lunch today, always an easy little lunch to throw together. Packed with spinach, corn, beetroot and feta.

   

  Dinner

Yummmmmy!!! This was so good. I made quinoa crusted chicken breast with oven baked sweet potato fries, salad & whipped avocado! It was amazing. The chicken turned out so good. Can’t wait to make it again.

 

  Snacks

Had another ‘the counter bar‘ snack bar this morning for my mid morning snack, this flavour is my absolute favourite! Feels like I’m eating a naughty chocolate bar but it has a ton of protein and less than 2g of sugar. Also had my fertility smoothie, which I drank out of my new pineapple mason jar…haha I love it. Thank you Target! I think for dessert I’ll have a couple of my Caca Bliss Balls as well.

 

     

  

Thanks for checking out my food journal – feeling really good and on track at the moment. I did have a diet coke in my lunch break at work today, but mainly because the water fountain was broken and I was dying for a drink! I am a diet coke/Pepsi max addict so I’m cutting WAY back. This was my first one in 5 days so I’m pleased, I use to have 1 a day. So so so bad. But once and again it’s a nice treat. Until tomorrow…

Fertility Diet: Day 4…

**IVF UPDATE***

So today we got our IVF paperwork/planner in the mail. Outlining all the shots I’ll be on and the dates to start ext. I take my last birth control pill on August 1st – SO CLOSE! I’m so excited to start our IVF journey but also very scared. The paper work was so daunting at first. The daily needles are whats freaking me out the most I think. I just hope I do everything right and don’t crew it all up. Doing just the trigger shot last month for our IUI was scary enough haha. But I’m sure after we meet with out nurse in a few weeks to go over the planner I’ll be more at ease. We have our ‘IVF Beginners’ class coming up too, so I’m sure I’ll feel more knowledge after that is all done. Now lets get into todays food…

Day #4

Breakfast

This mornings breakfast was 1 english muffin toasted and topped with 2 scrambled eggs and spinach. Perfect meal to wake up too. Zach didn’t have daycare this morning so I had a little extra time to whip this up.

   

Lunch

Lunch was 2 slices of toast with 1/2 an avocado smashed on top and a sprinkle of danish feta, salt and pepper. Served with a side of fresh strawberries. This is so simple but so yummy, I always find myself wanting more! Avocado is one of my favourites, I eat it almost daily. It’s an addiction haha. But The healthy fats are so good that I don’t care.

   

Dinner

Put together this Garlic, Soy & Ginger Pork stir fry for dinner. Packed with capsicum, carrot, snow peas and spinach. Another easy meal to throw together. Stir fry is a perfect meal to get so many extra veggies into your day. Pack it with everything you can think of! I normally add mushrooms, bok choy and red onion as well but we were all out.

  

  Snacks

  Of course I had my daily fertility smoothie – today’s was Banana Choc Bliss!  ~ 1 banana, 1 cup almond milk (or milk if your choice) 5 dates, 2 teaspoons maca powder, dash of vanilla extract and 2 table spoons of cacao (or chocolate powder of your choice) – Choc milk goodness!! ~  Also had some more of my Cacao Bliss Balls from yesterday! Can’t get enough. Looking for a new Bliss Ball recipe to give a whirl this weekend.

   

Fertility Diet: Day 3…

Day #3

  Breakfast

This morning I had a fertility smoothie for breakfast, I had no bananas again so I did a berry and mango smoothie. I also added my spirulina powder – the darkness of the berries and the super greeness from the spirulina made it a horrible almost brown/throw up looking colour. It wasn’t very appealing but it didn’t taste too bad. I didn’t snap a picture because 1, it was ugly and 2, I was running late to work/dropping Zach off at daycare. My mid morning snack was yummy fruit though, love when its strawberry season in Australia and you can get them for dirt cheap! My absolute favourite fruit!

  Lunch

Lunch was super easy and so tasty. Another one of my go to quick meals. It was just simply avocado, diced tomato and crumbled Danish Feta on gluten free corn crisp bread. A crack of pepper and pink salt on top really finishes it off.

 

  Dinner

Pizza night! I love making these veggie packed pizzas. We use rye wraps (Wattle Valley brand) as the base and add a ton of veggies! Tonight we used spinach, tomato, red capsicum, mushrooms, pineapple, pumpkin as well as a little cheese and pepperoni slices. Pizza minus the guilt and excess carbs. I also counted this as my ‘salad’ for the day as it was packed with goodness.

        

  Snacks

I thought I would whip up a batch of these yummy Raw Cacao Bliss Balls. They are a great afternoon pick me up. Packed with healthy fats from almonds and cashews. And a nice chocolate hit from the cacao powder. If you have never made Bliss Balls I suggest you give them a whirl! I had 2 as a snack and might sneak another one later for my dessert.

 

Today went really good, busy morning at work then an afternoon in the kitchen getting dinner prepped and whipping up the Bliss Balls. Now ready to crawl into bed and snuggle my baby boy to sleep. Hope everyone is having a wonderful day. Until tomorrow…
